WORKING TO INFLUENCE THE GYPSY AND TRAVELLER PLAN
With the Consultation period ended Epping Forest District Council are now aiming to produce a Plan for providing G&T accommodation in the District by the end of September. Thornwood Action have been working hard in a number of ways to influence that Plan.
· We have attended Council meetings and lobbied members of the Council
· We have had two meetings with the Leader of the Council.
· We have written a submission to the Secretary of State setting out why we believe the numbers of pitches should be reduced.
· We have met your MP and persuaded her to endorse our submission to the Secretary of State.
· We have appointed a Planning Consultant from out of the area to advise us on Strategy and to represent us at the public examination of the Council’s Plan.
· We have had several meetings with other Action Groups with a view to adopting a common approach.
Most of these initiatives have involved a lot of reading and writing of letters and reports. For sight of the key pieces of correspondence follow the link.
